How do I assess the data breach?

In a data breach, you need to determine what has happened - like in clinic, you need to find the cause, not cover the symptoms.
Firstly, take some notes by answering these questions:
1. How you think it happened- what caused it
2. What personal information was accessed.
3. How serious the consequences could be to the individuals
4. Is there anything you can do to fix it or reduce the harm to the individuals
Here is more information on responding to a data breach.
