Our story
In 2022, a revelation struck Skye when the Medibank breach shed light on the absence of data governance and cybersecurity practices within CAM clinics. In response, Skye is embarking on a mission that is committed to enhancing the experience for CAM practitioners across Australia. This mission seeks to simplify the understanding of data regulations and cybersecurity, aiming to provide comprehensive support to CAM practitioners and elevate the industry's standards in data and cybersecurity protocols.
About me
My creative identity is beauty in logic.
Being raised by an alternate mother and a rule-oriented father influences my view on the world. Warm weekends were spent in the garden turning the red country soil, learning traditional herbal medicine with my mother. While evenings ran late at the dinner table with the distant sound of crickets, debating political issues with my father opening my mind to the fact that life is just a serious of choices, with each choice being neither wrong or right because it is in the belief of the beholder.
My past holds influence on my design style because my design identity is finding the balance between discipline and the exhilaration of freedom. This is exhibited in this project by using bold colours that are different to the greens and neutrals that are commonly used and expected by CAM practitioners. The design finds balance between the seriousness of the content with policy and procedural advice while overlaying a sense of playfulness with the use of colours and imagery. My design persona is an outward expression of my personality of analytical yet a little untamed.
To me, step by step processes create a feeling of calm because it is predictable and expected. To have confidence that if I follow each step, I can achieve my goal. Furthermore, the beauty in logic is the excitement of stepping away from the process and breaking the rules. My personal philosophy is to learn the rules so I can break them.
My design approach is mixed. It firstly begins with a dream of what the solution could be and how it has the potential to improve the lives of others. This initial dreaming phase builds the excitement of the project and begins to build feelings, images and sensations regarding the end product. This phase is ethereal and sits in the realm of the imagination. Then comes the moment of choice. Where I decide if I will birth this idea or file it for later. From the decision point of acceptance my mind flies into logical mode whereby process maps and sequential procedures are built. This logical phase drives the project and transforms the idea into something tangible. My work is orientated towards technology because it fascinates me and has an element of discovery similar to space travel being limitless and unknown.
With a mind that wonders, I ground myself with processes and rules. This enables me to focus and perform at a high level and achieve a sense of accomplishment when I create tangible outcomes such as applications, websites and IoT microcontrollers. I am excited to be alive amongst a technical revolution and I am looking forward to contributing my influence on the industry.
